Our Additional Services

Sleep Laboratory Central Switzerland / Lucerne, 3-star sleep laboratory for all insurance classes in cooperation with the Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern.
If an overnight sleep study is required, Sleep Medicine Central Switzerland aims to provide an environment that allows for a natural and comfortable night’s sleep, as close as possible to sleeping at home. Prof. Nirkko developed the concept of conducting sleep studies in a hotel environment and was the first to introduce it in Switzerland in Lucerne in 2019.

At Sleep Medicine Central Switzerland, this approach combines the comfort of a hotel stay with state-of-the-art sleep diagnostics. The latest technology, comprehensive diagnostics and specialist medical care are provided by Neurozentrum Luzern.

Our nursing staff are present throughout the night to assist you and monitor the examination. Regardless of your insurance class, you benefit from high-quality medical care without any additional costs.

What to expect

  • We welcome you at 7:00 pm at the reception of Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern. A member of our nursing team will accompany you to your room and give you some time to settle in.
  • Our team will explain the procedure and answer any questions you may have. To accurately record and assess your sleep, several electrodes and sensors will be attached to your body. Despite the equipment and cables, you will remain mobile and will be able to move around freely.
  • Our team will monitor the examination throughout the night. Should you have any questions or require assistance, a member of our nursing team will be available to help you promptly.
  • A modern private bathroom is available for your evening and morning routine.
  • After the electrodes and sensors have been removed, you can enjoy breakfast at the hotel.
  • Your sleep data will subsequently be analysed. You will receive an appointment to discuss the results and the next steps with Prof. Dr. med. A. Nirkko.
