Prof. Dr. med. Czaplinski founded Bellevue Medical Group in 2013 and has served as CEO and Medical Director ever since. Under his leadership, BMG has grown into a network of more than 20 locations and over 90 specialists, and is today the only privately operated Swiss institution holding Continuing Education Category A in neurology. Prior to founding BMG, Prof. Czaplinski was a long-standing senior physician at the Department of Neurology, University Hospital Basel, and most recently head of the Neurological-Neurosurgical Outpatient Clinic. Alongside his leadership responsibilities, he remains clinically active and, as a renowned specialist in multiple sclerosis, focuses primarily on treating MS patients at the Neurozentrum Bellevue and other centres of the group. He is the author of numerous scientific publications and a member of the Swiss, European, and American Neurological Societies.

Denise Daprai has been with Bellevue Medical Group since its foundation in 2013. She has over 20 years of experience in the Swiss healthcare sector and extensive knowledge of both inpatient and outpatient processes. At BMG she supervises day-to-day operations, is closely involved in the hiring and training of new employees, and oversees inpatient invoicing. Ms. Daprai is an experienced leader with a wide network of connections in the medical field allowing her to manage key customer relationships at BMG. Prior to joining BMG, Ms. Daprai was the head of administration for Prof. Dr. med. Adam Czaplinski and PD Dr. med. Manuel Meyer.

Ilia Louganski joined Bellevue Medical Group in 2026 as Chief Information Officer (CIO). Prior to joining BMG, he spent over 18 years leading strategic digitalisation and transformation projects at leading Swiss financial institutions, including UBS, Credit Suisse, and Allianz Suisse. In these roles, he gained extensive experience in managing complex IT landscapes and guiding demanding change processes. Drawing on his expertise in solution design, architecture, and digital transformation, he is responsible at BMG for the strategic development of the IT landscape and drives digitalisation, the deployment of AI solutions, and the expansion of data analytics capabilities across the company. Ilia Louganski holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of St. Gallen (HSG) as well as a Certificate of Advanced Studies in FinTech from the University of Zurich.

Ms. Rijk Czaplinski has been Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director at Bellevue Medical Group since 2018. In this dual role, she is responsible for the entire operational leadership of the group, including organisation, human resources, processes, and locations. Prior to joining BMG, she served as Vice-President in Organisation and Personnel Development at Swiss Re. Before that, she worked at Novo Nordisk, initially on projects in South Africa and Brazil, and subsequently in Brussels and Zurich as Business Controller for the European Regional Office und in financial controlling for the Swiss Entity. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and holds a Master’s degree in Finance and Banking from the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) as well as a CEMS Master’s in International Management.

Martina Riedo has worked at Bellevue Medical Group in Business Development since 2017. With over 25 years of experience in the hospital and healthcare sectors, she has previously worked at institutions such as the University Hospital Zurich, the Children’s Hospital Zurich, and the Cantonal Hospital Aarau. She also organized the annual congresses of the Swiss Society for Clinical Neurophysiology, which allowed her to build an extensive network of contacts. At Bellevue Medical Group, Ms. Riedo is responsible for corporate development. She oversees the establishment and growth of new centers, managing everything from construction responsibilities to marketing and team building at the new locations. She is also closely involved in strategic matters and their implementation, collaborating closely with the Medical Director, the Managing Director, and the Head of Operations at BMG.

Mikolaj Czaplinski joined Bellevue Medical Group in 2022 as Head of Health Economics and was appointed Chief Financial Officer in 2025. As CFO, he is responsible for the financial leadership of the group as well as for the management of investments and growth projects. Prior to joining BMG, he worked as an Investment Analyst at Orbis Investments in London and at the Private Investment Office Calibrium in Zurich. He also gained experience in Digital Health at the specialised investment fund Heal Capital in Berlin. Mikolaj Czaplinski holds an MA in Law from the University of Oxford as well as an MSc in Law and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). His hobbies are travelling and sports.

Reto Menzi has been Chief Business Officer since 2026. He is responsible for the strategic development of the company, with a focus on organisational and process optimisation, growth and expansion, as well as M&A. Prior to this, he worked as an Investment Manager in private equity, where he specialised in growth capital and the support of SMEs as a sparring partner in operational and strategic matters. In addition, he brings experience from his role on the board of directors of a family-owned company. He holds a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of St. Gallen (HSG) as well as a CEMS Master’s in International Management from the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) and the University of St. Gallen.

PD Andreas Lutterotti completed his training as a specialist in neurology at the Department of Neurology of the Medical University of Innsbruck. During his training, he went for a fellowship as a researcher at the Institute of Neuroimmunology and Clinical MS Research at the University of Hamburg. After working as a senior physician, he received an assistant professorship at the Medical University of Innsbruck and was appointed to an assistant professorship at the University of Zurich in 2014. During the time, he headed the neurological day clinic, the cerebrospinal fluid laboratory, and later the neuroimmunological outpatient clinic at the Neurology Clinic of the University Hospital Zurich. His clinical focus is on neuroimmunological disorders and multiple sclerosis. His research focus on experimental therapies led to the spin-out of the company Cellerys, which is developing a new therapy for MS and which he oversees in a leading role. Since 2021, he has been a senior physician at the Neurozentrum Bellevue and the Clinic for Neurology Hirslanden. He is a member of the Swiss and European neurological societies.

PD Dr. med. Antonella Palla is a specialist in neurology (FMH). Her areas of expertise include traumatic brain injury, dizziness, balance disorders, and headaches. She leads the Traumatic Brain Injury Outpatient Clinic and serves as the Deputy Head of the Center for Dizziness and Balance Disorders. Her main interest lies in the treatment of post-traumatic dizziness, balance disorders, and headaches. Dr. Palla completed her medical studies at the University of Zurich in 2000 and received her FMH specialist title in neurology in 2009. She holds additional certifications from the SGKN in cerebrovascular diseases, electroencephalography, and electroneuromyography, as well as the SGSS certificate as a pain specialist. In 2011, she was granted the Venia Legendi for neurology with her habilitation thesis “Pathophysiology of Vestibular Neuropathy.” Dr. Palla has always been active in research, publishing in renowned journals and securing competitive third-party funding. She is a board member of the Swiss Headache Society and a medical advisor to Migraine Action. Most recently, she worked at the Swiss Concussion Center and the Department of Neurology at the Schulthess Clinic.

Prof. Dr. med. Christoph Schankin studied Medicine in Heidelberg and at Columbia University, New York. He completed his specialist training at Klinikum Grosshadern of Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich, including a research stay at the University of California, San Francisco with Prof. Peter Goadsby. From 2016, Schankin worked as Consultant and later Senior Consultant Neurologist at the Department of Neurology, Inselspital Bern, where he established the academic headache clinic and led the general neurology outpatient service. Since April 2025, Prof. Schankin has been Senior Consultant at Bellevue Medical Group and Head of the Center for Migraine and Headache. He is also Professor of Neurology at the University of Bern and Vice President of the Swiss Headache Society. Prof. Schankin specialises in migraine and other primary headaches such as cluster headache, as well as secondary headaches including idiopathic intracranial hypertension and spontaneous intracranial hypotension. He first described Visual Snow Syndrome and is the author of more than 150 original publications. His national and international standing is reflected in several international awards and his co-authorship of multiple national and international guidelines on headache and facial pain.

Matthias Adler is a specialist neuropsychologist (FSP) and certified neuropsychological assessor SIM (Swiss Insurance Medicine). His areas of expertise include neuropsychological diagnostics for neurological and neuropsychiatric conditions as well as assessments of driving fitness, functional capacity and work ability. Adler studied Psychology at the University of Basel and subsequently worked as a neuropsychologist and research assistant in dementia research at the Institute for Regenerative Medicine (IREM) of the University of Zurich. His clinical training took place at the German Red Cross (DRK) Hospital in Berlin, the Clienia clinics in Littenheid and Schlössli as well as the Memory Clinic Lucerne. Since 2022, Matthias Adler has led the Center for Neuropsychology at the Neurocenter Bellevue of the Bellevue Medical Group. In parallel, he has been preparing insurance medical assessments for the Swiss Disability Insurance since 2021. Beyond his clinical and assessment work, Adler is a member of the Swiss Specialist Society for ADHD, the ADHS20+ advisory centre, Autismus Deutsche Schweiz and the Special Interest Group Neuropsychology in the Memory Clinic of the SVNP.

Prof. Dr. med. Nils Peters is a board-certified neurologist specialising in neurovascular disorders, neurological intensive care and palliative medicine. He studied at the Medical Faculty of Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, with academic visits to the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and France. His specialist training took place at the Department of Neurology, Klinikum Grosshadern, and the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich. Following his training, Prof. Peters worked as Consultant and Senior Consultant Neurologist at the Department of Neurology, Outpatient Clinic and Stroke Center of University Hospital Basel. From 2013 to 2019, he served as Medical Director of the Neurological Inpatient Ward at University Hospital Basel and as Lead Physician for Neurology and Neurorehabilitation at Felix Platter-Spital. In 2019, the University of Basel appointed him titular professor of neurology. Since 2020, Prof. Peters has been Medical Director of the Stroke Center at the Department of Neurology, Klinik Hirslanden Zürich, where he leads several clinical and scientific research projects on neurovascular disorders.
