PD Dr. med. Klemens Winder is a specialist in neurology FMH and a specialist in diseases of the autonomic nervous system, cerebrovascular diseases and general neurology.
PD Dr. Winder was born in Austria in 1982 and studied medicine in Graz. He completed his training as a specialist in neurology at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg, in Augsburg, Germany and in rehabilitative medicine in Füssen, Germany.
Dr. Winder specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of cerebrovascular diseases and disorders of the autonomic nervous system (orthostatic hypotension, syncope, POTS). He is the author of numerous publications in leading international scientific journals such as Annals of Neurology, Brain, Stroke and the Journal of Neurology. He has also presented the results of his research at renowned international neurological congresses, such as the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), World Congress of Neurology (WCN) and autonomous congresses. In 2019, PD Dr. Winder received the teaching qualification for the subject of neurology and the academic degree of a habilitated doctor (Dr.habil.), followed by the appointment as a private lecturer.
Dr. Winder has extensive specialist knowledge in all areas of neurology. He holds certificates from the Swiss Society for Clinical Neurophysiology for electroneuromyography, electroencephalography and cerebrovascular sonography. He also has an additional qualification in neurological intensive care medicine.
From 2021 to 2023, he worked as a senior physician at the Neurology Clinic of the University Hospital Zurich and moved to the Hirslanden Clinic Zurich in 2023 as a senior physician with extended responsibility. In this role, PD Dr. Winder introduced numerous young colleagues to the complex field of neurology. Dr. Winder is currently Medical Director of the Neurocenter St. Gallen.
