Prof. Dr. med. Kai Rösler is a board certified neurologist (FMH) with a specialization for diseases of the peripheral nerves and muscles, for neurological pain syndromes, and for general neurology.
Prof. Rösler studied medicine at the university of Bern, with stays abroad in Atlanta and Madison (USA). He completed his training as a neurologist in Bern and Los Angeles. From 1991 to 2018, Prof. Rösler worked as a senior physician, later as a chief physician and member of the clinic management at the ENMG station and Neuromuscular Center of the Inselspital Bern. In this capacity, he introduced numerous young colleagues to the field of electro-neuro-myography (ENMG = electrical examination of nerves and muscles), a specialty in which he is also active in research and enjoys international recognition.
In addition to his work in diagnostic neurology, Prof. Rösler established an outpatient clinic for palliative neurology at the Inselspital, where a large number of patients receive interdisciplinary care. He is the head of the Continuing Education Academy of the Swiss Society for Clinical Neurophysiology and a recognized speaker nationally and internationally. He has organized numerous national and international neurological congresses as president or organizer and has also extensively worked with patient organizations.
