The recommended therapy in most instances is botulinum toxin, which is administered through injections into overactive muscle groups.
The aim of the treatment is to achieve a normalization of the movement disorders and of the functional misalignment by selectively inhibiting overactive muscle groups using botulinum toxin. This can often improve functioning, alleviate pain, and facilitate caregiving.
During the consultation, a detailed medical examination is undertaken, and targeted tests are performed. The medication itself is usually injected by a physician trained in this procedure, under EMG control to ensure that the affected muscle is reached. The effect of botulinum toxin lasts for about three months. We would be happy to schedule a consultation to discuss your personal treatment options.
